2. We are pleased to announce the starting of a study group on Bhaja Govindam. The study group will be under the guidance of Acharya Pramilaji. The group will meet regularly on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM.  It will be hosted in the residence of Anu and Karthik in Vienna, VA at the following address:

Since, there are 5 thursday's in September and the Bala Vihar school year starts on September 12th, we will meet on September 16th and 30th. After September, we will meet as scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. 

Bhaja Govindam is a timeless text that conveys the essence of Vedanta in simple slokhas that even beginners can understand. If the complexity of the concepts of Vedanta or the difficulty in following some of the other advanced texts has kept you away from delving into this Knowlege, then this study group is a great way to get introduced to Vedanta and prepare yourself to the path of Knowledge.

Bhaja Govindam is one of the minor compositions of the spiritual giant, Adi Shankaracharya. It is classified as a prakarana grantha, a primer to the major works . Though sung as a bhajan, it contains the essence of vedanta and implores the man to think, ``Why am I here in this life ? Why am I amassing wealth, family, power, fame, but have no peace ? What is the Truth ? What is the purpose of life ? The person thus awakened gets set on a path to the inner road back to the God principle.
